Yesterday afternoon, DrinkHaus was subject to a random, unannounced inspection and was ultimately closed down due to very minor building code infractions. As tenants in the building, we are trying to work with the landlord, Crayton Management, to get the space up to code. These infractions come into play after we have gone through and passed every required city inspection to date.
This unfortunately means DrinkHaus will be closed. We are working as hard as we can, with our management, to put 50+ people back to work. Our number one concern is our employees and their families. They are the heartbeat and backbone of our business.
The idea behind DrinkHaus was to create a place where WE can go and call our OWN. We attempted to recirculate OUR dollar by hiring and working with people that are like us.
Chicago, we’d like your support and prayers as we go through this process the City has placed in front of us.
